Year 12 Students performed their WACE repertoire Saturday August 15th presented by ANATS committee.
Ben Jobson is a year twelve music student at John XXIII College. He was the male lead in this year’s school musical ‘Hairspray’. He has been a regular member of the choral school Gondwana Choirs from a young age, and is currently a member of Gondwana Chorale. In the Chorale Ben took part in the dramatic cantata, ‘Jandamarra, Sing For The Country’ performed at the Sydney Opera House. Other instruments he plays are the viola, drums and guitar. Ben is hoping to get into WAAPA in 2016 and further his voice training.
Mira has been very involved in music for almost 7 years now and it has been her main pursuit during her time at school. She has trained in contemporary, classical and jazz voice. Her most significant achievements and performances to date are when she was cast in the role of “Cosette” in the Midnight Youth Theatre Company’s 2013 performance of Les Miserables, as well as her participation in numerous community and volunteer musical performances for organizations such as Miracle Babies, Relay for Life and Solaris Cancer Foundation. As well as these performances Mira has performed at the Ellington Jazz Club numerous times with the CCGS Jazz band, led by Paul Millard, and as a guest artist for Laura Bernay. She plans to study music next year at tertiary level.
