I began my journey with Laura in 2023, just as I was about to enter my final year of high school. It was a year full of ATAR recitals, musicals, and university auditions, and I was looking to expand my vocal abilities while navigating the busy year ahead.
From the very first moment I walked into her studio, I knew I had found the perfect teacher. Before I met Laura, I had been focused on musical theatre throughout high school, convinced that it was the path I wanted to pursue. At the time, I had also just been cast in my school’s production of Les Misérables, which was a huge step out of my comfort zone, but I was incredibly excited about it. Laura was instrumental in helping me harness that excitement and use it to fuel my growth as a singer.
As our lessons continued, I found myself stepping outside the world of musical theatre and discovering a newfound love for classical music. I began learning to sing in Spanish and Italian, expanding my vocal range and understanding how to harness and fine-tune my voice. Laura’s expertise and care helped me grow as both a singer and a person.
Laura played a pivotal role in helping me choose the perfect repertoire for my auditions, carefully selecting songs that showcased my voice and highlighted my potential to study at such a prestigious institution. Thanks to her guidance, I received an offer for the Bachelor of Music at WAAPA, majoring in Classical Voice.
Her kindness, wisdom, and genuine care for my progress made all the difference. I feel so fortunate to have had her as my teacher, and I know her impact will stay with me for years to come.
Thank you for everything Laura!
