I studied with Laura for 11 years, and her influence on me goes far beyond singing. She has been not only an incredible teacher, but a role model and mentor. Laura helped me build confidence in my voice, in myself, and in my ability to aim high. Her expertise in languages allowed me to get a head start on what is required to be a classical singer. I can already sing confidently in the four major langages (other than English) for classical voice- Italian, German, French and Spanish. This could not have happened unless the teacher was skilled in these areas. Learning repertoire in other languages than English with Laura has broadened my horizons not just in singing but in the world as a whole.
As I move on to university to study a Bachelor of Music in classical singing, with plans to complete a Master of Teaching, I’ve realised how deeply Laura has inspired my future.
